Scarecrows and Zoo Boo

We had a very eventful fall weekend.  On Saturday we headed to Chappell Hill, TX to attend the Scarecrow festival.  It was warm, until it started to rain...then it just got humid.  We shopped, Ethan rode in a train and on a donkey, we ate fried food and just enjoyed "fall" time in Texas.

On Sunday we went to the Houston Zoo, for their annual Zoo Boo.  It was great besides looking at the animals, we played carnival games, painted a pumpkin, colored a huge mural, and then rode the train before heading home.

Ethan wanted Avery to sit in his lap on the train ride.  Such a wonderful big brother.

just a few days....

I love the expression on her face....it is like what is he doing now.  She is so good and puts up with him.

 So very sweet...
Gave Avery a Mum-Mum bar the other day, because she tried to eat my granola bar....
This her deciding it tasted like paper...such a funny expression. love this girl!

A very fun morning at the Children's Museum

So very proud of himself

These two love each other so much. I am really enjoying my time with them each day and counting my blessings each and every day.

Greg and Brooke's Wedding

So handsome...
gift bags for the kids at the wedding...it helped pass the time before we could go into the reception
love those chubby cheeks....
Sharing a snack with Grandpa!  "Don't you want the celery that I just took a bite of?"
Uncle Mike and Aunt Drew--soon will be celebrating their one year anniversary
waiting is hard for a two year old....this is the camera that I bought him before the trip. Best 35 dollars that I have spent  in a long time.  It kept him from wanting my camera, and he loved taking pictures of everything. Including the floor and random people getting off the elevator. It is perfect--we even took it to the park the other day, and it survived being hurled down the slide.
So hungry...I will even eat salad...

Cousin Rami and Avery  Avery spent most of the night dancing with Rami and Rob. She loved it. I think they did, too.
This is my dancing fool. He did not understand why the bride and groom had to dance first.  He went hard until about 10:30 and then finally crashed!

Mommy and Avery dancing. She lasted until about 9:45.
Ethan was a dancing machine.

Dollar Dance with Brooke
So sweet...we love our new cousin Brooke!
Cousin Greg wasn't sure about dancing with Avery, but he did a wonderful job!

Apples, Corn, and Tractors

We went apple picking on Friday morning.  It was a cool morning and so much fun.  We rode on the "hayrack" (never heard it called that) out into the rows of apple trees.
 Doesn't Avery seem impressed?
Grandpa showed Ethan how to pick an apple and then eat it.  That by far was his favorite part.  He liked to pick one, take a bite then put it in the bag.  The picture below is one of my favorites!

Such an awesome picture...just missing Uncle Mike...he was playing golf.

Only picture we got of the two of them at the apple orchard, soon after I snapped this Ethan got up and Avery fell backwards.
On Saturday morning before the wedding we went to a farm about 30 minutes south of Moline.  We had a great time in the corn maze, shooting corn cobs out a air gun, and slinging pumpkins through the air.

 Avery had a nice ride...
We only completed half of it. Supposedly the easy half, but 50 minutes later, we were over it, or at least Aunt Drew and I were. :)
We let Ethan guide us through the maze, because we figured it didn't really matter which way we went.  He took us left every time.  I am surprised that we made it.
 So many dead ends.

Michael made the corn in a huge tire about 120 yards away...he won the pumpkin below.  It was big.

After the farm we went to visit John Deere.  We didn't get to spend a lot of time there, because we had to get back to get ready for Greg and Brooke's wedding. We did however have fun climbing on the big tractors.  Ethan was in heaven.

The pictures don't do it justice.  They are big.
