bluebonnets

Last weekend we drove to Chapel Hill to take pictures in the bluebonnets.  The flowers were out in full force (unlike last year, because of our drought--they were pathetic).  We got some great pictures of the three of us (four including Maggie).  If you look really closely in the picture below, you can see her tail.  My hand is on her back.  The grass and flowers were that high!  It was great.  A true spring Texas day.

Saying cheese, but not looking at the camera!  So much personality!
It was nice to have a Sunday afternoon the three of us before "Baby Sister" comes.  Although the drive didn't do anything for my already swollen ankles.
He kept trying to wonder off by himself.  Which is okay, but we couldn't tell if there were any ant hills--and I really didn't want to have to use the epi-pen.  We go back to the allergist on Wednesday to run tests. I am hoping that we will get some answers.  Is he really allergic to ants or was it because he got SO many bites (20+) at once.

Spring Break 2012

We  had a great Spring Break!   After spending the first few days going to the doctor (Ethan--two appointments, Me--one).  We got to play the rest of the week.  On Tuesday after the ENT, we went to the Children's Museum, I don't have any pictures of that--wasn't thinking.  Then on Tuesday we went to the zoo. It was hot and crowded, but we still had a good time.  We even got to ride the train afterward--a big favorite.  On Thursday, the three of us went to the Houston Livestock Show.  As you can see above, Ethan got to sit on a Longhorn.  He wasn't a huge fan--the animal was big. (but you all know that secretly Chris was hoping he wasn't going to like it. :)) We also went to the carnival.  On Saturday morning, Ethan helped Daddy make cinnamon rolls--always a help.  On Sunday, we decided to drive down to the Alvin and picked strawberries.  He had a blast and was actually really good determining which ones were good to pick.

Kite Festival

On Saturday we went to the Sugar Land Kite Festival.  It was a really windy day, perfect for kite flying, but a little cool.  We had a great time.  I was a little nervous about being in a big field with ant piles everywhere, given what we went through on Tuesday, but we made it through without a scratch or bite.  He truly enjoyed himself flying kites, dancing to the music, and running around like a crazy boy.

We had a lot of fun flying kites.

I bought Ethan a Dinosaur (He is totally obsessed with dinos right now) kite.  It was a huge hit.

He really enjoyed "chasing" the kite.

Good Helper!

E-man is such a good helper.

Ants

So on Tuesday at school, Ethan got into Ants...A LOT of ants.  He had an extreme allergic reaction to the bites and now has an Epi Pen for ant bites.  Most of the bites were on his left hand, a few on his right hand, and a few on his feet.  He had rash for three days and spent most of Tuesday evening throwing up.  It was an scary and eventful night at our house.  Next week he has to go to an allergist.

Sesame Street Live

Looking good in Big Bird's nest

Early in February we went and saw Sesame Street Live one Saturday morning.  We thought that he was going to be a dancing machine, but instead he sat there with a very solemn face watching very intently.  He did enjoy it and finally sang along to the ABC's.     He really enjoyed the popcorn and of course cotton candy.  The three of us had a wonderful time.

Kemah

One weekend we went to the Kemah boardwalk.  It was a lot of fun.  Ethan enjoyed riding all the rides and eating ice cream.  Even though it was January, it was rather warm, as you can tell from the short sleeves and shorts.  We had a great time!
