Happy Mother's Day 2010

What a great day! I had a great first mother's day. We went out for breakfast this morning and then just hung around the house the rest of this morning. Ethan gave me a "MOMMY" charm for my charm bracelet, and Maggie gave me a gift certificate to get my nails done.

Strawberries

Today we went to Froberg Farms in Alvin. It is open to pick strawberries. Ethan didn't do much picking--he left that up to Chris and me, but I am sure the next Spring, he will be running up and down the rows of strawberries. He was the happy the whole time, laughing, blowing bubbles, and wiggling around. It wasn't until we were paying that he started to get fussy. What a good baby! We came home with about 4 pounds of strawberries and lots of fresh vegetables--I can't wait to see what Chris is going to make me for mother's day dinner.

month four

It is amazing that another month has gone by...Ethan is growing up so fast. He has found his hands and always has them in his mouth. What great toys just at the end of the arms!!! Here are some more highlights from the last month...

• weight 12 pounds 14 ounces 15 percentile


• length 24 inches


• head 17 inches 75 percentile WOW!!!


• kicking the keyboard and messing up what I am typing right now...those legs are always on the move


• sleeping most the night--only getting up once to eat at night.


• got to spend an extra week with Grandma L. when the volcano in Iceland kept her from getting back to Denmark


• started daycare (because mommy had to go back to work--sad--hence why there hasn't been many posts in April) His teachers love him and he is doing great! (mommy is too)


• neck and head muscles are really strong and he enjoyed playing in his Baby Einstein jumping contraption


• played in Texas bluebonnets


• grabbing at EVERYTHING, my hair, toys, instruments at the doctors, etc.


• pulls out his pacifier, and is getting better at putting is back in


• sometimes tries to pull himself into the sitting position while laying down


• Easter bunny visited for the first time, we had a wonderful first Easter


• went to the dog park with Maggie, but mommy forgot the hat, so we had to sit in the shade the whole time


• mommy got a new camera---not sure how there could be more pictures, but...

Bluebonnets!

On Saturday, we went and took pictures in the Texas Bluebonnets. Ethan did great, even though he can't sit up by himself, we still got a few great pictures. It was a lot of fun and we can't wait to make it a annual tradition.

Easter morning 2010

This is our Easter morning...

Maggie went searching for eggs left by the Easter buuny!!! Look what she found. Yes, that is Ethan being cranky in the background....he just wanted to hunt for eggs, too!

Maggie also got a bone, and she couldn't wait to get it open.

Ethan enjoyed his first Easter morning. The Easter Bunny was really good to him and left him lots of treats. He got an Elmo hooded towel, which made him smile. We talked with Grandma and Grandpa L. in Denmark over Skype this morning, and this afternoon going over to Grandma and Grandpa M.'s house. More pictures to come later...Happy Easter!!!

Happy Birthday Maggie!

Today is Maggie's fourth birthday. We went to the park and shared a cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was her favorite. She could have done without the walk--such a lazy dog. After the park she came home and slept the rest of the day. Doesn't she look good in her new collar?
